Science and Biology Tutor at Blooms Academy in Abuja (FCT)

Position Objective

To supply premium quality training in Science and Biology, equipping students with robust scientific expertise, practical competencies, and critical thinking abilities in alignment with the Cambridge Checkpoint and IGCSE curricula. The tutor will motivate curiosity about the natural world while getting ready students for both within and outside the organization examinations.

Primary duties

• Train General Science (lower years) and Biology (upper years) across allocated classes, following the Cambridge Checkpoint and IGCSE syllabi.
• Formulate and execute compelling lesson strategies, combining both theory and practical strategic trials.
• Organize students thoroughly for Checkpoint and IGCSE Biology examinations.
• Carry out practical sessions and oversee laboratory initiatives safely.
• Evaluate, document, and documentation student advancement in line with school and examination board guidelines.
• Promote query-based learning, critical thinking, and issue resolution.
• Produce an welcoming, stimulating, and efficiently run classroom environment.
• Combine ICT and modern training plans to improve learning results.
• Offer academic direction and guidance to students.
• Convey productively with parents/guardians regarding student advancement.
• Engage in unit-specific sessions, career advancement, and extracurricular science initiatives.
• Assist school-wide programs, science fairs, and contests.

Credentials & Competencies

• At least a Bsc in Biology, Science Education, or relevant field.
• Training certification (PGDE, TRCN registration) is a plus.
• Expertise training Cambridge Checkpoint Science and IGCSE Biology is essential.
• Established history of successful examination project setup and student accomplishment.
• Robust subject expertise and practical laboratory competencies.
• Outstanding classroom management and verbal abilities.
• Competence in using ICT and digital assets for training.
