Role summary
A marine logistics service supplier is looking for a Technical Superintendent to guarantee the safe, productive, and cost-efficient technical management of allocated vessels, preserving high business accessibility and adherence with safety and statutory rules while embedding the organization's Quality, health, safety, and environment culture onboard.
Primary duties
- Ensure safe application of the organization’s safety rules and advance a Quality, health, safety, and environment-driven culture onboard all allocated vessels.
- Oversee OPEX/CAPEX financial plans for allocated vessels, making sure cost discipline.
- Preserve a 95% Technical Accessibility Rate (TAR) to enhance vessel accessibility.
- Ensure zero Lost Time Injuries (LTIs) and accidents.
- Supervise precise and prompt status updates of technical incidents, breakdowns, and interventions (UPMP, PMP, UJ documentation).
- Guarantee promptness and cost-efficient repairs in accordance with Class and statutory qualifications.
- Preserve current Class, statutory, and associated technical certifications for all vessels.
- Confirm buy requisitions and orders connected with parts, solutions, and consumables.
- Coordinate with Classification Societies for surveys, certification renewals, and Class status documentation.
- Organize vessels for drydock inside the appointed window and ensure no drydock extensions.
- Organize with internal participants and external associates (BTS, Shipyards).
- Carry out consistent onboard visits, which includes technical and electrical inspections (VTI).
- Supervise proper handovers during vessel transfers between ship managers.
- Oversee Head Engineers, which includes yearly appraisals, ability reviews, and professional development.
- Execute and guarantee promptness status reports in the Automated Servicing & maintenance Management System (CMMS/TA).
- Carry out every month assessments of vessel Closed-circuit television recorded content to recognize and report to higher support tier guard or business matters.
- Ensure standard procedure lube oil evaluation is executed and reported per SMS/TA qualifications.
- Preserve and modify finalize vessel stock records.
- Keep abreast of new maritime rules and standardized best practices.
Credentials
- Head Engineer Certification of Ability or Bsc in Engineering or a similar accreditation.
- Established leadership in coordinating multi-vessel fleets and technical teams.
- Solid understanding of vessel technical processes, fix, and servicing & maintenance.
- Expertise coordinating financial plans and operating with CMMS operational structures.
- Understanding with classification societies, flag state qualifications, and ISM Code.
