Job Description
Duties
- Head the recognition, registration, and recordkeeping of unaccompanied and detached children in the target sites.
- Carry out family tracing and confirmation of family links through group networks, CPIMS+/PRIMERO, or inter-agency mechanisms.
- Organize and coordinate family reunification methods, making sure that they are safe, voluntary, and in the child’s best interest.
- Offer or coordinate the offering of interim or alternative care when reunification is not at once possible.
- Preserve precise and current case files in accordance with case management guidelines and secrecy rules.
- Collaborate with caseworkers, group focal points, and community-related workers to assist ongoing tracing endeavors.
- Organize with government and humanitarian actors participated in child protection, especially the Ministry of Women Affairs, NAPTIP, and National/State tracing networks.
- Ensure proper recordkeeping and status updates of all FTR initiatives, which includes success stories, hurdles, and key data for M&E.
- Engage in and support to case professional forums, inter-agency client recommendations, and child protection operating groups.
- Coordinate consciousness and sensitization sessions on family segregation, alternative care, and child rights within networks and IDP camps.
- Assist skills development of locally-driven child protection panels and voluntary assistants on tracing and recordkeeping.
At least Credentials
- Bsc in Community-related Work, Psychology, Child Development, Law, or a relevant field.
- A minimum of 2 – 3 years of expertise in child protection programming, ideally in humanitarian or crisis settings.
- Demonstrated expertise in family tracing and reunification, alternative care, or case management for at risk children.
- Expertise in CPIMS+/PRIMERO is an asset.
- Deep knowledge of child protection principles, best interest decision (Offer), and safe reunification procedures.
- Capability to operate under pressure and oversee various key focuses in a difficult environment.
- Robust interpersonal and verbal abilities.
- Fluency in English and applicable local languages (e.g., Hausa, Kanuri) is highly preferred.
- Good computer competencies, which includes Office productivity software (Word, Excel) and case management operational structures.
Languages:
Fluency in English and Hausa, other spoken languages in the group, is a plus.
