Position Objective / Goal

Offer engineering guidance, compliance, and guarantee for all structural engineering initiatives in key petroleum sector projects (greenfield and brownfield, remote marine operations and onshore). Ensure safe, cost-productive, and fitfor-objective structural designs and modifications that adhere with organisation guidelines, international codes, and Nigerian compliance obligations (NUPRC, NCDMB).

Key Duties

  • Carry out Remote marine operations Systems, Hull, Risers & Mooring (OHRM) associated design works using Shell specified software, and produce all Civil, Structural and applicable outputs.
  • Structural assist sizing, design calculations and modification.
  • Formulate documentation connected with compliance-related agencies which includes Lloyd’s register.
  • Reevaluation of framework stability of current facilities using assessment data.
  • Finite element evaluation (FEA) using SACS, ANSYS/ABACUS for structural part design.
  • Foundation and Geotechnical design for subsea tools, flowline and riser operational structures and bottomfounded systems.
  • Evaluate AutoCAD structural drawings for all designs.
  • Metocean data evaluation and metocean design evaluation benchmarks documentation.
  • Weight estimates and weight management documentation connected with naval architecture scope.
  • Worldwide evaluation of floating operational structures including of linked or linked various floaters.
  • Ensure HSSEQ Adherence: Verify that every structural engineering, building and installation initiatives adhere with HSSEQ (Health, Safety, Guard, Environment and Quality) guidelines and advance a safety-first culture in-field.
  • Enforcing Shell and IOGP (International Petroleum sector Producers) Health, safety, and environment (Health Safety and
  • Environment) rules and standardized processes at Organisation worksites.
  • Engage in multi-disciplinary Thorough Engineering Design for the project.
  • Evaluate and offer input to technical specification documents, evaluation documentation, drawings and other thorough engineering documents for the Structural scope of the project.

Position Profile

  • Oversee technical queries during design, procurement, fabrication, and installation phases, which includes
  • any relevant certification and running test.
  • Execute technical duty allocated by the project Structural Head, which includes structural evaluation,
  • calculations, design, confirmation or study initiatives.
  • Interface with other Project Specialists and UI/UX professionals.
  • Organize and evaluate technical initiatives.
  • Utilize understanding of relevant industry codes and Shell qualifications to guarantee safe design and processes, operating jointly with other disciplines.
  • Work alongside productively with engineering houses and other Group of Practice (CoP) Engineering disciplines inside the Organisation.
  • Offer engineering input on alternative design, building and installation methods proposed by the Vendor.
  • Witness on-site initiatives which includes On-site Receipt Assessment, Factory Acceptance Test, and verify adherence with the authorized standardized process.
  • Oversee the Health, safety, security, and environment effectiveness of service providers during installation to guarantee Health, safety, security, and environment targets are fulfilled or exceeded. Serve as the Health, safety, and environment advocate for Remote marine operations Installation initiatives, making sure Organisation’s team is highly visible and offering initiative-driven Health, safety, and environment executive guidance to attain Objective Zero.
  • Analyzing building and installation standardized processes and method statements for the project.
  • Analyzing installation evaluation for risers, jumpers, spool pieces and topsides tools to confirm installation methods and resources, which includes heavy remote marine operations lifting strategies.
  • Coordinating with with the QA discipline to guarantee alignment between Quality assurance/Quality control qualifications and technical requirements.
  • Coordinate with Organisation’s Lifting and Hoisting SME (Domain specialist) to evaluate lift strategize rigging register and assist safe lifting processes.
  • In charge of safe, prompt and productive implementation and lead advancement of work scope based on timeline.
  • Collaborate with Vendor to guarantee quality concerns are properly recognized, recorded, reported and prompt dispositioned.
  • Author and supply routine, on a weekly basis, and every month status, advancement, and on-site documentation.
  • Coordinate with internal participants i.e., Quality, Health, safety, and environment, project regulate, engineering disciplines, organizing, etc. to guarantee adequate assist for project implementation.
