Position Overview
The Primary School Tutor is in charge of supplying compelling and age-suitable lessons to pupils in early years and primary grades, nurturing intellectual and community-related development, and producing a safe and helpful learning environment. The tutor aids pupils' growth in literacy, numeracy, and other basic-level subjects while supporting good conduct, discipline, and a love for learning.
Primary duties
- Strategize organize, and supply lessons in accordance with the school syllabus and national education guidelines.
- Train core subjects which includes Mathematics, English, Science, and Community-related Studies.
- Formulate and execute schemes of work, lesson strategies, and educational resources.
- Evaluate and assess pupils' advancement through tasks, tests, and documentation.
- Produce a classroom environment conducive to learning, creativeness, and discipline.
- Offer individual attention and assist to pupils with learning difficulties or special needs.
- Oversee classroom conduct and motivate positive engagements among pupils.
- Engage in school events, employees sessions, development, and parent-tutor professional forums.
- Preserve precise records of students’ academic and conductual effectiveness.
- Work alongside other teachers and school employees to assist student development.
- Advance moral and ethical values in alignment with the school's aspiration and purpose.
Qualifications
- Education: Bsc in educational studies or applicable subject; NCE or PGDE is acceptable relying on region.
- Accreditation: Must be registered with Teachers Registration Council (TRCN) or suitable education authority.
- Expertise: At least 1–3 years training in a classroom setting; fresh graduates with training practice expertise may also submit application.
Competencies:
- Solid understanding of primary school subjects and training methods.
- Clear articulation and classroom leadership abilities.
- Capability to motivate and motivate young learners.
- Patience, creativeness, and a caring mindset.
- Skilled in basic computer and digital training resources.
Operating Terms:
- Work is executed in a classroom and school environment.
