Building Expert, P3 at United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) in Abuja (FCT)

Position Overview

Under the direct oversight of the Climate Adjustment and WASH Manager (P4) and in partnership with Health, Education, Stock and Procurement sections, the Building Expert will be in charge to head and organize the building components of the CRIBS project, and assist the development, execution and supervising of the CRIBS project across Nigeria. S/he will be in charge of the below-mentioned duty and results to enable evidence-based evaluation and strategic judgment.

CRIBS project supervising:

• Formulate resources for project supervising (e.g. project Gantt charts and advancement tracking sheets) for CRIBS project in meeting with the project teams.
• Track advancement of CRIBS project and organize advancement summaries for exchanging with the national government governing bodies and FCDO on a bi-on a weekly basis basis and as per need.
• Organize advancement status reports and logical documents and distribute those in on a weekly basis/every month sessions with UNICEF management, FCDO and other external participants.
• Ensure a complete and current status documentation on CRIBS project based on close supervising of project execution.

Expertise:   

• At least five years of progressively in charge specialist work expertise at the national/international level in building management, program/project development in conceptualizing countries and understanding with climate adjustment adjustment, environment and socioeconomic development.
• Knowledgeable about children's rights and gender in the circumstance of climate adjustment adjustment and risk reduction. Expertise in gender equality principles and gender sensitive programming.
• Previous expertise within UNICEF is an asset. Proven expertise in submitting application outcomes-based management necessary.
• Outstanding logical and skilled in writing, support and presentational competencies an asset. Exhibited capability to operate harmoniously in a diverse environment and establish harmonious & efficient operating connection both within and outside an company.
• Outstanding documented and spoken English is essential.

Language Qualifications:   

Fluency in English is essential. Expertise in another formal UN language or a local language is an asset.
