Nursery / Early Years Tutor at Discovering Talents Academy in Gwarinpa, Abuja (FCT)

Position Overview

The Nursery/Early Years Tutor at Discovering Skills Academy (DTA) is in charge of producing a stimulating, safe, and fostering learning environment for our youngest pupils (Pre-Nursery and Nursery). This position includes supplying age-suitable, play-based guidance that encourages comprehensive development across all learning domains. The Early Years Tutor is critical in upholding DTA's core purpose to "produce an atmosphere of fun where kids can enjoy being kids" and its aspiration to "discover and bring out the uniqueness in every child," by making sure individualized training and supporting basic-level Ability Purchase inside the SHRID specialty.

Child Development & Welfare:

• Offer alert care and oversight to pupils, making sure their physical and emotional safety and well-being at all times.
• Track and assist children's personal care needs (e.g., toilet development, hygiene procedures, monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning times).
• Observe and record children's developmental advancement, actions, and any matters, status updates to parents and applicable school management.
• Promote positive community-related-emotional development, supporting empathy, exchanging, and respectful engagements among children.

Parent & Public involvement:

• Preserve launch, warm, and clear communication channels with parents/guardians regarding their child's routine initiatives, advancement, and any matters.
• Promote robust strategic collaborations with parents, offering direction on assisting their child's learning at home.
• Engage in parent-tutor professional forums and school events applicable to the Early Years Foundation Stage.

Regulation compliance:

Firmly follow all DTA rules and standardized processes, which includes those connected with timeliness, dress code, child protection, safety, and ethical carry out. Uphold the specialist guidelines and values of Discovering Skills Academy at all times.

Credentials

• Education: Bsc in Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, or a relevant field with a robust concentration on early years pedagogy. A National Certification in educational studies (NCE) or a Certification in Early Childhood Education is also acceptable.
• Expertise: At least [e.g., 2-4] years of demonstrated expertise training in a nursery or early years setting.
• Expertise: Deep comprehension of child development theories, play-based learning structured approaches, and early years syllabus frameworks. Understanding with DTA's Aspiration, Purpose, and SHRID Specialty is crucial.
• Technological Competence: Foundational knowledge in using teaching tech and applicable software for lesson organizing and information exchange. Expertise with school management software (e.g., DTA software) is a plus.
• Information exchange: Outstanding verbal and professional writing competencies, with the capability to convey productively with young children, parents, and teammates.
• People skills: Robust people skills, with exceptional patience, empathy, warmth, and a genuine love for operating with young children.
