Role Objective

  • RTSL Nigeria is looking for a Top level Technical consultant (STA) to head a fresh program to prevent head poisoning.
  • The Top level Technical consultant, Head Poisoning Prevention, will strategically formulate, oversee, and advise on RTSL’s endeavors to assist the Government of Nigeria and state governing bodies in strengthening and accelerating the prevention of head poisoning.
  • This role requires a robust blend of strategic thinking, business competencies, political and media consciousness, and the capability to operate productively in collaboration with government, networks, and other participants.
  • The STA will organize national and state-level initiatives to lead rapid and measurable advancement while making sure that government executive guidance remains at the forefront. This position proposals the incumbent the avenue to assist shape a new programme and is critical to its success.
  • This role will team up with both RTSL executive team and team members to influence the programme on head poisoning at RTSL, Nigeria. The position will answer to the Chief Consultant and Manager, CVH, RTSL Nigeria, with matrix status updates and technical direction from the Worldwide Top level Technical consultant, Head Poisoning Elimination.
  • The incumbent will collaborate with the RTSL Nigeria Top level Technical Consultants for Laboratory, Lawful, and Regulatory framework Support.
  • This role will be anticipated to commute within Nigeria to work alongside government associates (estimated 30% of commute).

Credentials Education:

MSC or higher in Environmental public health, Community health, Worldwide Health, Public Regulatory framework, or a relevant field.

Expertise:

  • 10+ years of progressively in charge expertise in community health with a solid experience in programme management and regulatory framework development (environmental public health and head elimination expertise will be an added advantage)
  • A minimum of 5 years of expertise operating with national and sub-national government entities on plan and intergovernmental, sectoral and agency synchronization
  • Proven expertise operating across various sectors, departments, agencies and institutions with high-level government authorities, international entities, and development associates
  • Established history in programme plan, programme design, and participant relation
  • Expertise using adaptive project coordination approaches
  • Understanding with worldwide environmental public health frameworks, which includes One Health approaches, and in surveillance.

Competencies & Abilities:

  • Competence in leading strategic strategies and coordinating projects that match with strategic objectives, with a want for ongoing development, which includes responsibility for routinely analyzing plans and exchanging findings to enhance programs
  • Understanding with Nigeria’s health architecture and comprehension of interagency dynamics on plan implementation and alignment on obligations and timelines
  • Verified ability to operate productively and jointly with government ministries, agencies and departments, donors, the private sector, intergovernmental entities and other participants
  • Outstanding stakeholder engagement, shaping, information exchange, bargain, and diplomacy competencies, with the capability to participate at the highest levels of government and international health institutions
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and strategic judgment competencies to lead the head poisoning prevention plan and enhance RTSL’s effect
  • Robust critical thinking, with the capability to produce sophisticated information into implementable strategic guidance
  • Outstanding technical documentation drafting, visual communication and people skills for compelling and shaping top level and high-level government authorities and non-governmental associates, and multi-party agencies.
