Job Description
Position Overview
Under the oversight of the Chief of Management and Finance, the Reviewer executes the highest-quality evaluate of documents in two of the three languages (French, English, and Portuguese) and manages the facilitation of information exchange between them.
Position duties
- Plans translation/analysis work and arranges directions.
- Modifies translations covering a variety of concerns handled by ECOWAS.
- Executes linguistic analysis and conceptualizes associated terminology and letter of recommendation materials.
- Advises and helps translators and summaries them on ECOWAS standardized processes and procedures, terminology used, and a variety of concerns, as needed.
- Modifies verbatim minutes and concluding communiqués of sessions trading with especially sensitive, sophisticated, or technical topics.
- Confirms adherence of amended minutes and concluding communiqués with the authentic or other versions and with established ECOWAS practice.
- Assessments the completed draft of collected amended minutes and concluding communiqués for quality assurance.
- Helps in analyzing the transcribed text and editing it based on the analysis, comparing it to the authentic language text, as needed.
- Documentation for executive review on the quality of the translators’ and interpreters’ work.
- Observes the quality of internal and binding translations.
