Line Cook at Puff & Glaze Limited in Gbagada, Lagos

Position Objective

The Line Cook will be in charge of getting ready and plating dishes according to Puff & Glaze’s recipes and guidelines. This position requires meticulousness, speed, and uniformity in a dynamic kitchen environment while making sure food safety and hygiene adherence.

Primary duties

• Organize and chef menu items according to organisation recipes and quality benchmarks.
• Set up and inventory the desk with the necessary ingredients, resources, and tools.
• Ensure food portions are regular and plated with appealing visual communication.
• Track the freshness, taste, and temperature of all food before serving.
• Follow kitchen SOPs, hygiene, and safety guidelines (which includes HACCP adherence).
• Help in routine food prep (vegetables, proteins, sauces, etc.) as allocated.
• Work alongside other line chefs, kitchen assistants, and the Chief Cook for smooth processes.
• Reduce food waste and ensure proper storage of ingredients.
• Preserve cleanliness of work station and support to end-of-change kitchen cleaning.
• Assist in stock checks and documentation shortages of ingredients or tools.

Credentials & Competencies

• At least SSCE / OND in hotel management, Culinary Arts, or relevant field.
• 2+ years demonstrated expertise as a Line Cook, Chef, or similar position in a dining venue or culinary service environment.
• Expertise in various cooking methods, kitchen tools, and industry standards.
• Robust corporate and schedule control competencies.
• Capability to operate well under pressure in a dynamic kitchen.
• Dedication to hygiene, safety, and collaboration.
• Creativeness and enthusiasm for food are a plus.
