Position Overview

A Haulage Driver is in charge of the safe, prompt, and productive transportation of goods (which includes FMCG goods, industrial materials, and tools) across various sites in Nigeria. The position requires adherence with Nigerian road safety rules, customer dispatch plans, and organisation business rules.

Primary duties

  • Safely operate heavy-responsibility trucks/trailers to transport goods within and outside appointed routes.
  • Carry out pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle (brakes, tires, lights, fuel, oil, water, etc.) to guarantee road worthiness.
  • Comply firmly to Nigerian traffic legal provisions, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) rules, and organisation pushing rules.
  • Guarantee promptness loading, securing, and unloading of cargo, avoiding compensation or losses.
  • Preserve precise dispatch data records, waybills, and trip documentation.
  • Documentation mechanical faults, accidents, or route hurdles to the fleet manager at once.
  • Carry out basic servicing & maintenance checks and keep the truck clean and professional in appearance.
  • Work alongside logistics teams, warehouse employees, and security staff to guarantee productive supplies.
  • Preserve specialist carry out with customers, clients, and the general public while advocating the organization.

Credentials & Qualifications

  • At least SSCE/OND certification(or equivalent).
  • Must have a valid Nigerian driving permit (Class G or suitable heavy-responsibility category).
  •  3–5 years of expertise in haulage or long-distance truck pushing.
  • Good expertise in key Nigerian highways, routes, and interstate logistics processes.
  • Deep knowledge of vehicle servicing & maintenance and diagnosing issues.
  • Capability to operate long hours, commute extensively, and adjust to evolving plans.
  • Must be physically suit and pass pre-job medical screening (aspiration, hearing, and general health).
  • Defensive pushing accreditation or FRSC/authorized safety development is a plus.
