Biology Tutor at Blooms Academy in Abuja (FCT)

Position Objective

To strategize supply, and evaluate compelling Biology lessons that formulate students’ scientific expertise, practical competencies, and curiosity about the natural world, with a robust emphasis on the Cambridge Checkpoint Syllabus.

Primary duties

• Train Biology across allocated year groups, which includes Checkpoint classes, using efficient and compelling training methods.
• Formulate and supply lesson strategies in sync with the Cambridge Checkpoint Syllabus and school guidelines.
• Organize students for both within and outside the organization evaluations, which includes Checkpoint examinations.
• Design and oversee practical strategic trials that reinforce theoretical expertise and motivate scientific query.
• Track and evaluate student advancement, offering quick response and assist.
• Promote a safe, stimulating, and welcoming classroom and laboratory environment.
• Motivate critical thinking, issue resolution, and application of biological notions to real-life situations.
• Combine tech and interactive assets into training.
• Convey routinely with parents/guardians regarding student advancement and conduct.
• Engage in unit-specific sessions, career advancement, and school initiatives.
• Uphold the school’s values of discipline, superiority, and character development.

Credentials & Competencies

• At least a Bsc in Biology, Biology Education, or relevant field.
• Training certification (PGDE, TRCN registration) is a plus.
• Exposure to and expertise with the Cambridge Checkpoint Syllabus is essential.
• Demonstrated expertise training Biology at the primary/secondary level.
• Solid understanding of Biology notions, practical competencies, and pedagogy.
• Outstanding classroom management, information exchange, and people skills.
• Capability to combine online platforms and query-based approaches into training.
