Top level Geologist at a Privately Held Oil and Gas Exploration and Production Company - WTS Energy in Lagos

Position Overview

The Top level Geologist will be an active member of the Subsurface team. The applicant is anticipated to supply prompt, premium quality geological evaluation and analysis to the organization’s development processes; in line with the entire technical plan and targets, while preserving high specialist guidelines

Primary duties

• Seismic Analysis, characterization, and mapping of faults & fractures at reservoir levels. Creating and utilizing seismic traits for better characterization of fractures, faults, and other structural, stratigraphic, and sedimentary capabilities.
• Analyze geophysical and geological data, use geologic notions, and combine information from diversity of geologic disciplines to formulate directs, locate new exploration targets, estimate volumes and endorse drillable potential opportunities.
• Quality control, evaluate and combine geological, geophysical and generation data to formulate current fields, recognize upside possibility and endorse most effective well placement for site development.
• Combine large amounts of geological, petrophysical and geophysical data to produce static models for input into reservoir simulation, reserves estimation and development organizing.
• Execute thorough reservoir characterization using improved geological evaluation to assist characterization & site development strategies, operational base assessment and well organizing/ drilling processes.
• Produce internally managed well designs, assess & evaluate target sites and data recording qualifications while partnering with the drilling and reservoir technical groups.
• Organize well proposal documents and end of well documentation.
• Engage in exploration and development drilling processes. Ensure collection & storage of all subsurface data.
• Work on new business undertakings in emerging zones which includes executing geophysical studies.
• Engage in internal/external special geological/geophysical studies like sequence stratigraphy, sedimentology, basin modelling, AVO and inversion.
• Stand for the organization externally as a tech specialist with government, associates and industry when necessary. Preserve advantageous and positive connection with same.
• Help the technical teams, offer associated compliance-related and adherence assist on subsurface matters where needed.
• Constantly assess possibility value-adding avenues in and around the organization’s assets.
• Comprehend new technical solutions and submit application to the hurdles of E&P processes.
• Offer direction and training to younger subsurface and assistants as necessary.
