Top level Processes Planner at Lekki Freeport Terminal in Ibeju Lekki, Lagos

Position Overview

Lekki Freeport Terminal, the first automated Container Terminal in Nigeria, needs a Top level Processes Planner to join our growing processes team. This position is key for preserving proper processes organizing. In charge of preserving proper and productive Processes organizing in deliberation of port rules and regulations, vessel particulars, most effective yard stacking and utilization, safety, expense management and productivity as main components to lead the development of the work, and with proper usage of TOS and other associated operational structures and applications. At the same time, also possessing proper information exchange with within and outside the organization clients.

Vessel/Barge Organizing:

• Coordinate with the lines in possessing the discharge BAPLIE and MOVINS received inside the due dates as stipulated.
• Produce all vessel profiles and framework in Ship Editing spacialist when needed and/or save/rename the files received from Vessel Operators (i.e NSD) following the SOP.
• Organize, implement, and track operating cranes sequence in accordance with organisation`s needs and targets, concentrating on the most effective tools deploying and utilization.
• Organize the discharge and load sequence in accordance with the SOP and in attempt to attain best productivity possible seeking also to the safety and cost aspect.
• Ensure utilization of most effective organizing approach during task volume (i.e crane density calculation, dual cycle, and twin lift organizing)
• Organize the necessary set of documents and hand over to implementation.
• Ensure to get Vessel`s command authorization of pre stow strategy prior processes without setbacks and as well on post finalization exit Edi.
• Organize with the lines for any key modifications requested by the vessel.
• Offer pre stow strategy to Vessel Handler as soon as Vessel`s command authorizes the pre stow and concluding exit strategy upon finalization of process.
• Ensure with the support of dispatchers that processes are running as per organizing and proceed with modifications in the organizing every time it`s necessary. Advise peers of any necessary modifications to crane sequence, crane distributions, ETC in accordance with the evolving work key focuses, etc.
• Engage in close collaboration with peers to guarantee an efficient entire terminal organizing is preserved to high guidelines internally and externally.
• In charge of exchanging and preserving set of live documentation internally and to clients, connected with processes advancement and effectiveness as per SOP.
• Ensure accurate data capture to prevent flaws that affect berth, vessel, and yard processes productivity.
• Upon finalization of vessel process, in charge to get through the Agent and Port Regulate the aviator to sail the vessel in time to accept next vessel.
• Ensure shorter vessel interchange between vessels by supervising vessel processes and smooth information exchange with Port Regulate and Vessel Operators/Agent.

Yard Organizing:

• Fulfill the role of focal point for any yard organizing processes associated matter.
• Head and train “Dispatchers” to guarantee they are properly carrying out their duty and using TOS functionalities accordingly.
• Constantly supervising of dispatch agent`s task volume and help on their assignment every time needed.
• Productively strategy yard layouts of all container categories according to segregation requirement inside the yard, using set of parameters and based on yard plan.
• Check container stacks to possess proper project setup for the vessel’s process.
• Supervising of the export stacks while receiving exports, making sure they are stacked as per distribution.
• Close supervising of the import stacks for longstanding containers and sending out reminders to the lines to organize clearance as the earliest.
• Supervising the empty impaired unit’s evacuation from yard to avoid longstanding, sharing information with the internal employees and Lines.
• In charge to preserve yard honesty and reliability and taking necessary action when necessary.
• Track the ICD’s proclaimed for the respective vessels and check if are cleared inside the assigned time frame, alternatively transform same to the local imports and information passed on to the lines.
• Close supervising of Special container (IMO, Reefers, OOG) segregation in yard, taking necessary actions when necessary.
• Regulate, check and avoid on routine bases Chimney stacks in the yard.
• Strategy and head the routine yard initiatives including all necessary employees and recourses making sure all organized moves are carried out and current properly in the yard.

Yard Organizing:

• Accomplish and preserve all terminal KPIs.
• All import containers in yard are organized and stacked correctly by size, type, category, status and group always.
• Export and transshipment containers all located and grouped stacked according to vessel, port of discharge, type and weight grades before vessel berthing.
• No event of container loss. If containers are missing, to be recognized, and closely investigated and checked back.
• Yard Plan is respected.
• Closely check in on longstanding and impaired containers` evacuation.
• Proper set of distributions and in properly use.
• 100%-yard Honesty and reliability.
• Closely check in on the routine yard initiatives.
• All yard documentation allocated by the management are carried out without postponement and fault

Expertise & Expertise

• At least a minimum of 7 years of expertise in container terminal processes as Yard or vessel planner.
• Expertise with NAVIS N4 is recommended.
• Basic expertise in the shipping industry and port business.
• Expertise in vessel schemes and particulars, stowage strategy and IMDG rules.
• Expertise in yard lay-out and operating methods.
