About the Position
The Medical laboratory technologist (MLS) is a healthcare specialist in charge of carrying out laboratory tests and evaluation to assist in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases. MLSs work in clinical laboratories, hospitals, analysis institutions, and other healthcare settings, using improved tech and methods to evaluate blood, urine, tissue, and other bodily fluids.
Primary duties
- Carry out laboratory tests and evaluation
- Operate laboratory tools
- Evaluate and analyze test outcomes
- Formulate and execute laboratory procedures
- Preserve laboratory quality assurance and QA
- Work alongside healthcare teams
- Stay updated with laboratory improvement
- Preserve patient secrecy and information accuracy
- Oversee and educate laboratory staff
- Engage in laboratory management
Education and Credentials
- Bsc in Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) or a relevant field.
- Accreditation as a Medical laboratory technologist (MLS)
- Licensure or registration as necessary by state or national rules.
- Robust logical, issue resolution, and verbal abilities.
Competencies and Expertise:
- Robust logical and analytical abilities
- Expertise in laboratory standardized processes and methods
- Understanding with laboratory tools and instrumentation
- Comprehension of laboratory safety procedures and standardized processes
- Clear communication and people skills
